Afghanistan News24: India’s Coast Guard and the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) have intercepted a vessel in the Arabian Sea and reportedly seized around 526 kilograms of suspected narcotics.
According to Indian authorities, the operation was carried out based on intelligence inputs, during which a vessel was intercepted and subjected to inspection.
Indian officials said five Pakistani nationals, reportedly members of the vessel’s crew, were detained in connection with the case. Authorities alleged that the seized substances included heroin and methamphetamine.
Indian media reports said the estimated value of the seized narcotics is around 30 billion Indian rupees (3,000 crore).
The Indian Coast Guard and Gujarat ATS said the intercepted vessel was handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Indian authorities are reportedly investigating the alleged source of the narcotics, the route used for their transportation, and whether other individuals or networks were involved.
As of the publication of this report, there has been no independent official statement from Pakistani authorities regarding the detention of the five nationals or the allegations concerning the seized narcotics.
