Afghanistan News24: Former Vice-President of the European Parliament, Ryszard Czarnecki, described the Durand Line as a historical mistake and said the time has come to reassess the disputed border.In an article published in 2017, Czarnecki wrote that the Durand Line between Afghanistan and Pakistan has been one of the key factors contributing to long-term instability in the region. He emphasized that the international community should take serious and practical steps to address this historical issue.He stated:“It is time that hard decisions are taken, and the historical mistake known as the Durand Line is set right.”
He added that resolving the issue could help pave the way for lasting peace and stability in the region.
