Afghanistan News24: Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai has strongly condemned Pakistan’s policy following the reported recent airstrikes on Afghanistan’s Kandahar, Khost and Paktia provinces, saying Islamabad has yet to abandon what he described as its “negative policy” toward Afghanistan.
Karzai said Pakistan had once again carried out airstrikes on Afghan territory, stressing that such actions not only constitute aggression against Afghanistan but could also further contribute to instability in the region.
He warned that the consequences of Pakistan’s policy had now reached Islamabad’s own doorstep, and said Afghans, regardless of their differences, stood “united and together” in response to the attacks.
Karzai called on the Pakistani government to abandon a policy of pressure, attacks and confrontation and instead pursue a path of good-neighborly relations with Afghanistan. He also urged both countries to manage their relations through civilized engagement and mutual respect.
He further stressed that continued military attacks on Afghan territory are not a solution to existing problems and called on Pakistan to change its approach toward Afghanistan.
