Mahmood Khan Achakzai: Government Policies Are Pushing Pakistan Toward Internal Conflict

Afghanistan News24

Afghanistan News24: The leader of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, , has stated that the current policies of the Pakistani government are steering the country toward internal conflict.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Achakzai pointed to the suspension of trade with Afghanistan, saying that due to what he described as flawed government policies, bilateral trade has come to a standstill, significantly affecting the livelihoods of ordinary people.

He added:

“Pakistan has fought three wars with India, yet trade between the two countries continues. However, in Pashtun and Baloch-populated regions, trade with Afghanistan has been halted. If people are not allowed to engage in political activities, form parties, or ensure their own protection, such actions will push the country toward internal conflict.”

He emphasized that such policies are unacceptable and warned that the continuation of the current situation could lead to serious consequences.

Achakzai also strongly criticized Pakistan’s military operations in Pashtun-populated areas and raised concerns over the treatment of civilians, calling for a reassessment of these policies.
