Mir Yar Baloch: Pakistan Must Recognize Balochistan as an Independent Neighbour

Afghanistan News 24: A political figure identified as Mir Yar Baloch has commented on the recent blast in Quetta, stating that the Baloch are a peaceful nation.
He said Baloch investors never participated in World War I or World War II, as they opposed bloodshed around the world. He further claimed that foreign “occupational forces” have never been tolerated in Balochistan.

He alleged that the continued presence of Pakistani forces in what he referred to as the “Republic of Balochistan” is contributing to instability across the region.
According to him, the people of Balochistan had declared independence, but the Pakistani state continues to ignore what he described as the “public mandate” of a 60-million-strong Baloch population.

He added that in democratic societies, the will of the people is respected; however, he accused Pakistan’s military of relying on force rather than democratic principles to suppress dissent, while failing to do so over time.

Mir Yar Baloch also referred to Pakistan’s development projects, including CPEC, urging an end to what he described as exploitation and calling for withdrawal from Balochistan’s territory and maritime areas.
He further drew parallels with the 1971 Dhaka surrender.

He claimed that approximately 40,000 Baloch prisoners are being held by the Pakistani military and intelligence agencies, some allegedly missing for over two decades.
He stated that families continue to await the return of their missing relatives, often receiving bodies of victims instead, which he said fuels anger and resistance.

He concluded by stating that if Pakistan seeks peace, its military should withdraw from Balochistan and allow the people to govern their own affairs, including domestic and foreign policy, without interference.
Otherwise, he warned, the conflict would deepen, and Pakistan could eventually be forced to accept what he described as a “surrender agreement” in a so-called Republic of Balochistan.
